Can third-party bank details be used in App Store Connect?

Why the answer depends on the enrolled party, bank records and local compliance.

A different bank-account holder name is not permission to route proceeds to any third party. Apple says the holder name may differ from the agreement’s legal-entity name, yet the Account Number must belong to the individual or entity enrolled in the Developer Program.

Documented publisher finance compared with ambiguous third-party routing
Confirmed in Apple documentation

The precise answer

Enter the holder name exactly as the bank records show. A naming difference can be legitimate, but the underlying account still needs a documented relationship to the enrolled party. A random partner’s IBAN is not covered by a general permission.

Account numberThe enrolled individual or legal entity
Holder nameExact bank record; may differ from agreement name
Compliance reviewID or company evidence may be requested
PayoutOne primary account; no split payments

How legitimate portfolio publishers organize finance

A studio can publish many products through one verified entity, one Paid Apps Agreement and centralized accounting. Separate publishers need genuine ownership, contracts, tax treatment and authority over their own payout accounts. Client publishing should be backed by documented rights.

Independent developerPersonal account held by the enrolled developer.
Single studio portfolioCorporate account held by the enrolled company.
Group of publishersSeparate entities, accounts and intercompany agreements.
Client publishingDocumented agency rights and a consistent payout structure.

Financial instruments are not interchangeable

InstrumentUse
Personal bank accountFor the enrolled individual
Corporate bank accountFor the enrolled entity
Multicurrency accountPossible with supported details and currency
Payment-institution accountDepends on ownership and provider terms
Virtual debit cardNot a substitute for payout bank details
Intermediary bankDo not enter instead of the receiving bank

When the account belongs to somebody else

Resolve four questions first: who owns the receivable under Apple’s agreement, why the account may receive it, who reports the income, and which documents prove the arrangement. A form accepting the value does not guarantee payment acceptance.

Contract→Tax owner→Bank evidence→Payout

Can banking data link accounts?

Banking information is not anonymous. Apple does not publish its full fraud-signal model, so neither automatic group suspension nor guaranteed isolation can be promised. Treat reused details as potentially linkable and keep the structure truthful.

Safer structures for scale

Small developerThe developer’s own account and consistent tax data.
Product studioThe enrolled company’s corporate account and centralized books.
Several publishersReal separate entities, rights, contracts and accounts.
